Elian da Ros

Our domain is located in Cocumont in the Côtes du Marmandais on the left bank of the Garonne. My father grew tomatoes, cereals, tobacco and vines there, bringing the grapes to the village cooperative cellar. As a child, I dreamed of being a winegrower and at the age of 14 I started studying viticulture and oenology. In 1997, after having worked for 5 years in Alsace, I chose to return to the family lands and build a cellar there to make my wine. 1998 is my first vintage. Today, the estate covers 19 hectares on hillsides on a soil of gravel and clay-limestone. The vines have been cultivated organically since 2000 and biodynamic since 2002. To compensate for two consecutive years of hail (50% in 2006 and 13 ha at 100% in 2007), since the 2007 vintage, we have been buying a little grape from a friend who is a winegrower who has a very nice plot on a clay soil. limestone under gravelly scree. The grapes purchased are produced with strict specifications and are intended only for the Le vin est une Fête cuvée (not certified organic).
