Telmo Rodríguez is one of Spain’s most influential winemakers and the founder of Compañía de Vinos Telmo Rodríguez, a pioneering initiative dedicated to rediscovering historic vineyards and expressing Spain’s diverse terroirs through indigenous grape varieties. Since the 1990s, he has played a central role in redefining modern Spanish wine with a focus on authenticity and regional identity. Rather than being tied to a single estate, Telmo Rodríguez works across multiple regions, including Rioja, Ribeira Sacra, Toro, and Málaga. His approach focuses on recovering forgotten vineyards, often old vines planted on diverse soils such as slate, limestone, and granite, allowing each wine to reflect its specific origin.
