Château Falfas is a historic and pioneering biodynamic winery located in the Côtes de Bourg appellation on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. With origins dating back to the 17th century, the estate combines deep heritage with a forward thinking approach, producing wines that are authentic, expressive, and firmly rooted in terroir. Owned by John and Véronique Cochran since 1989, Château Falfas was among the first estates in Bordeaux to adopt biodynamic viticulture, earning Demeter certification and becoming a founding member of Biodyvin. The vineyards, planted on clay-limestone soils overlooking the Gironde estuary, benefit from optimal exposure and a temperate climate, resulting in wines with structure, freshness, and aging potential. Specializing in classic Bordeaux varietals such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec, the estate follows a low intervention philosophy in both vineyard and cellar. Manual harvesting, native yeast fermentation, and careful aging in oak allow each wine to express purity, balance, and a true sense of place.
